How It Works

Losing a parent in the line of duty changes everything for a family. Magic Memories Foundation exists to give these families something to hold onto: time away together, far from the weight of grief, to reconnect and simply be a family again.

Here's how a family joins us.

A family is referred or reaches out. Families come to us through referrals or by contacting us directly. 

We confirm eligibility. Our programs serve families who have lost a parent in U.S. military or first responder service, including Law Enforcement, Fire, and EMS. The surviving parent or legal guardian applies on behalf of the children.

We plan and book everything. We conduct a brief interview to understand each family's wishes, then arrange and book the entire experience around them, travel, lodging, and activities, so the family has nothing to coordinate and nothing to pay. We cover all travel expenses. 

The family travels together. The surviving parent or legal guardian joins their children for the entire experience, present with them every step of the way. Throughout the trip, a member of our team is on hand to help with anything the family needs, so parents can focus on their children and simply enjoy the time together.
